Make your local business easier to find online in Nepal

A practical visibility checklist for shops and services: accurate details, useful descriptions, real evidence and a clear way to contact you.

Location pins connect local businesses to a readable discovery map.

A small business does not need to be everywhere at once. It needs useful, accurate information where customers already look, and a reliable response when someone makes contact. Begin with the details that help a person decide whether your business can solve their problem.

Keep a single business information sheet

Record the trading name, phone or contact channel, opening hours, address or service area, website and a short description. Assign someone to update it after a move, a changed phone number or holiday hours.

Use this sheet to check your website, social profiles and eligible business listings. Consistency helps customers avoid confusion; it is not a promise that a particular search engine will rank the business first.

Improve the information customers actually need

Explain what you provide, where you provide it and how to request it. A repair service might describe the types of work it accepts and the information needed for a quote. A shop might clarify opening hours, product categories and how to confirm availability.

Google’s guidance encourages complete, accurate business information and describes local results in terms of relevance, distance and prominence/popularity. It also states that a better local ranking cannot be requested or purchased.

Build trust with evidence you can stand behind

Use current photographs of the business with appropriate permission. Describe services plainly. Avoid invented awards, copied reviews and unsupported “number one” claims. If a customer provides feedback, handle it honestly and follow the platform’s review rules.

Check the contact route yourself. Send an internal test enquiry through your own process and confirm who sees it, how long a response takes and what happens when the responsible person is absent. A visible phone number is only useful if someone can respond.

Prepare for local discovery platforms

Create a clear description and a small set of useful photographs so you are ready when an appropriate listing opportunity is available. Keep credentials and business ownership under your control.
